Spring Break on the Fireline
This past spring break I was in Kansas setting fire to phytomass. On this day the winds became light and variable and the burn had to be called off. You can actually see this in the picture. Note the slope and weak head fire behind me. This baby should be smoking hot, instead it is just smoking. You can also see the multiple head fire attempts. (right) This is an extremely early fire, but as Konza has so many watersheds to burn, we always need to start early in order to finish on time.
